Kim Delaney is an American actor who is most well-known for playing Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she received an Emmy Award. Her most well-known role is her role as a character in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the only child of her homemaker mother and an executive in her union, the United Auto Workers. Delaney was a child with 4 brothers. She dreamed of becoming a court reporter in the early years of her life, however she began modelling at high school, eventually earning commercials after moving to New York. In 1981, she starred as a naive teen in All My Children. Delaney is well-known as an actress, appearing featured in a variety of TV movies, and dramas. Her professional career has been much more lucrative than her personal life. She has been in the past talented actress struggled to overcome alcoholism and had two marriages fall apart. In 2005 her custody was removed from her.
